Boquillas Canyon by boat
Drift the Rio Grande beneath limestone walls that rise a thousand feet overhead.
Guided river, canyon and desert journeys across the Rio Grande, into a wild and untouched corner of Coahuila, Mexico. Small groups, local guides, low impact.
We keep groups small, travel lightly, and let the land — and the people of Boquillas del Carmen — tell the story.
Discover Boquillas is the work of Ernesto Hernández and Mike Davidson: friends and guides who have shared these deserts, canyons and rivers since 1988, on both sides of the border.
This is slow, sustainable travel into a place most people only ever see from the far rim — a remote corner of Northern Coahuila where the desert, the river and a living culture meet.

Drift the Rio Grande beneath limestone walls that rise a thousand feet overhead.

Cross to Boquillas del Carmen by rowboat, the way travelers have for generations.

Share food, music and stories with the people who call this frontier home.

Walk hidden trails through ocotillo, side canyons and old mining country.

Soak in warm mineral springs where the desert meets the Rio Grande.

Some of the darkest skies in North America — the Milky Way, edge to edge.
On this land, on both sides of the river, since 1988.
Small groups, leave-no-trace, and the community first.
A remote region most travelers never reach.
